In early March of 2019, a severe outbreak of tornadoes formed across Alabama. We were able to make it to one of the hardest hit areas, Lee County. As a result, we collected about five-thousand Street View images, which was over 30 miles of road.
Our MapBox base map with new aerial imagery of the damage.
Lastly, we used the completed project as the basis for creating a feature set in ArcGIS at the request of local officials.
Due to the high volume of imagery, we use Wasabi Cloud Storage. See their case study about us!
